Antonio Checa

Antonio Checa obtained his undergraduate degree in chemistry in 2004 from the University of Barcelona. From 2005 to 2009 he completed his PhD in analytical chemistry in the chemometrics group from the same university. After two years of working in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry based -omics applied to food authentication, he joined the Wheelock lab in 2012 as a postdoctoral researcher. His current research is focused on tracking how lipid mediators are involved and may serve to track severity in inflammatory and immune mediated diseases such as multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus erythematosus.
