Cristina Gomez

Cristina Gomez obtained her PhD in Biomedicine at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain. She has worked in the Bioanalysis Research Group of the Barcelona Anti-Doping Laboratory at IMIM, Hospital del Mar in Barcelona (Spain) in development of analytical methods to detect the administration of forbidden substances in sports, and in the detection and structural characterization of new metabolites of doping agents. Being the laboratory part of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), she has participated as an expert analyst in anti-doping controls at international sport events: London Olympic Games, 2012; the Pan-American Games of Guadalajara, 2011 and the 15th FINA Swimming World Championships in Barcelona, 2013. After finishing her thesis, she joined the Wheelock group as Postdoctoral Researcher in February, 2015.
