Marcus Sjödin
Marcus Sjödin obtained his MSc in Analytical Chemistry in 2002 from Stockholm University. From 2002 to 2008 he worked at the Center for Inherited Metabolic Diseases developing new LC-MS based methods for newborn screening. In 2008 he moved to Uppsala University and the Department of Analytical Chemistry as a graduate student. During this time, he worked with biomarker discovery applied to clinical neuroproteomics using nano-LC-MS based strategies. For this he was awarded his PhD in 2012. The following year he joined the Wheelock lab as a postdoctoral researcher, where he focused on the role of lipid mediators in respiratory diseases. His primary project was the European-wide study (U-BIOPRED) focused on identifying sub-phenotypes of asthma. His research focused on applications of lipid mediator profiling in the inflammatory response in asthma, COPD and sarcoidosis. He left the Wheelock lab in 2014 and is currently a senior researcher at the Swedish Toxicology Sciences Research Center (Swetox).
