Nelson Hayes

Nelson Hayes graduated with a degree in biology from Washington and Jefferson College in 1996. In 2003, he received a PhD in biology from the Pennsylvania State University. After moving to Japan in 2005, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Kanehisa Laboratory in the Bioinformatics Center at Kyoto University for four years under the supervision of Dr. Wheelock. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Gastroenterology and Metabolism at Hiroshima University where he uses high throughput methods to track antiviral resistance and identify host factors implicated in viral hepatitis.
