Carolina González

Carolina González obtained her M.Sc. in Pharmacy from Complutense University of Madrid (Spain) in 2014. In the same year, she joined Dr. Coral Barbas' research group as a PhD student in Medicinal Chemistry at the Centre of Metabolomics and Bioanalysis (CEMBIO) at the Pharmacy Faculty of San Pablo CEU University. She received a Spanish FPI doctorate grant of San Pablo CEU University. Her research interests involve targeted and non-targeted metabolomics studies based on a multiplatform analytical approach (LC-MS, GC-MS, CE-MS) applied into neurodegenerative studies. She is currently working in collaboration with the research group of Dr. Javier De Felipe, neurobiologist of Cajal Institute - CSIC, in the frame of The Human Brain Project, which is co-funded by the European Union. She visited the Wheelock laboratory in Spring 2017 to carry out her International Doctoral Stay, which was supported by a CEINDO-Santander Bank Grant. She was trained in LC-MS/MS analysis to learn methods for quantification of lipid mediators to determine the role of these compounds in the severity of pediatric asthma.
